Yes, but you also can't ignore the huge role that government spending had in bringing the country out of the depression. While WW2 may have ended the depression, it was Roosevelt's reforms during the? war that allowed soldiers returning home to ease into a suburban lifestyle(buying homes on credit, massive interstate highway systems allowing for residential expansions etc.) It was these reforms that created America's vast middle class and economic prosperity up until the 70's.
